Being Alone

posted May 3, 2011 4:36 PM by Shawna Cevraini
Yesterday, I wrote a post (one of 3!!) over on my personal blog at Cafe Cevraini - Savor the Butter Chicken and today was another day that I did my best to remain in my "alone" state.

The day started with yoga, and then sitting alone at breakfast. I did sit with some people at a table in the sessions which ended up being the lunch table, but I mostly just listened to the conversations. I'm again here in my room, enjoying an appetizer supper (something I NEVER get at home!) and a beverage or two...again, alone. My music is playing softly in the background. I am thoroughly enjoying this time to myself.

Yes, maybe I should be networking; but at this time in my life, I think learning to enjoy being alone is a must. I'm getting so many things clear in my head; working on stuff, writing, relaxing. I've decided that this needs to be a regular retreat. I think my husband needs to do it too. I think everyone does. Being alone pushes all those demands out of your head. You're not constantly being bombarded with everyone's needs. You can really focus on your own. It's not selfish, it's self-care.

I have a couple ideas for you to find your own alone time in my other blog post. Please try one. Learn to slow down and simplify your life. Enjoy being alone. It helps you to appreciate the ones that fill your life with so much joy when you're not alone...

Cheers friends! :)
